  • Having a mental health issue is not a requirement of seeking therapy.

  • You do all the work to change. The therapist guides, supports, and help you gain insight.

  • It may take a while to get comfortable with the process of just talking about yourself. Just sitting and being heard feels different from our normal conversation experience.

  • Trusting your therapist is what leads to growth. You will not be honest or value the feedback of someone you don’t trust. 

  • What you learn in therapy must be practiced in the real world if you want to see change in your life.
