You do all the work to change. The therapist guides, supports, and help you gain insight.
It may take a while to get comfortable with the process of just talking about yourself. Just sitting and being heard feels different from our normal conversation experience.
Trusting your therapist is what leads to growth. You will not be honest or value the feedback of someone you don’t trust.
What you learn in therapy must be practiced in the real world if you want to see change in your life.
